Planeterra, the non-profit organization of G Adventures, has launched its biggest vacation campaign yet – The Wish List.

The wishlist allows fans of community tourism to be part of making “wishes” come true for five of Planeterra’s community tourism businesses this holiday season after two difficult years with limited income from international travel.

Funds raised this year will go to things like tuk-tuks for a transport service run by women in Cambodia, art supplies for an indigenous artisans cooperative in Mexico, in-person training for a youth art tour in Cambodia. Argentina, uniforms and kitchen appliances for a cafe in Mongolia that employs people with Down syndrome and a new roof for a coffee cooperative in the Galapagos.

Donations to the campaign this year, up to $ 21,000, will also be personally matched by Planeterra and G Adventures founder Bruce Poon Tip, who says get these businesses back on their feet as soon as possible through fundraising. of the wish list is essential.

“These grants will be well received by local social enterprises, and G Adventures is committed to incorporating these experiences into travel itineraries in 2022 as part of our Project 100 program, which means these community tourism projects will be supported at the future while providing travelers with a meaningful and memorable experience, ”said Poon Tip.

Beyond the capacity building grants that the fundraiser will generate, there is Planeterra’s commitment to provide training, support and mentorship through the Global Community Tourism Network, which was launched earlier l ‘last year.

“The global community tourism network now provides training, resources and mentorship to over 340 communities in 74 countries,” added Planeterra President Jamie Sweeting.
